Frequently Asked Questions
Questions parents ask us most.
We serve youth ages 4 through 21 across four developmental cohorts: Elementary (4–10), Middle School (11–13), High School (14–18), and Young Adults (19–21). Each cohort receives programming designed specifically for their neurological and developmental stage.
Yes. We accept both insurance and private pay. Contact us and our team will assist with benefit verification before your child's first session. We handle the paperwork so you can focus on your child.
Expressive arts therapy is a clinically supervised modality in which visual art, movement, or music serves as the therapeutic medium — not the goal. A clinician directs the creative activity with a specific clinical intention: emotional processing, trauma integration, or skill-building. A child in an art class creates art. A child in expressive arts therapy uses art as a clinical tool, guided by a licensed professional.
Standard outpatient therapy typically involves talk-based sessions in a clinical office. At The C.A.R.E. Project, the therapeutic modality is delivered through creative, movement, or sensory-based activities in purpose-built rooms — because research shows this format produces higher youth engagement and comparable clinical outcomes. The clinical rigor is identical. The engagement is dramatically higher.
Submit a contact form or call us → we schedule a free 20-minute Parent Welcome Call → you receive an Enrollment Packet → you select the service pathway that fits your child's needs → your child's first session is scheduled. Most families complete enrollment within 1–2 weeks of first contact.
Both. We offer Individual Sessions (1:1 with a licensed clinician), Group Therapy (small groups at 1:3 and 2:6 ratios), Clinical Therapy Workshops (90-minute intensives at 2:8), and the Continuous CARE Protocol (our flagship subscription model combining group and individual components). Our team will help you identify the right combination at enrollment.
Yes — and we encourage it. We offer brief on-site tours for families considering enrollment. Mention "space tour" in your consultation form and we'll arrange a walkthrough during a low-activity period so you can see the rooms as they're set up.
The contact form collects only non-clinical information: your name, phone number, email, and any general notes you'd like to share. It does not collect your child's name, diagnosis, medications, or any clinical details. HIPAA-compliant intake forms are used after enrollment. If you have clinical information to share before your first session, please call us directly at 702-779-3626.
